How to camp with kids

Bring other kids. Also, cook dinner together. It makes everything surprisingly easy.

Soph & her friends played elaborate games with acorns, sticks, snow, light sabers, marshmallows, a spare tent, a lot of daddies, and pinwheels. But mostly with each other.

When it got hot, Soph’s friend pioneered a soon-to-be-popular movement: underwear hiking.

When it got cold, we dressed Everett in two fleece pyjamas (one on top of the other), then sandwiched him in between two winter jackets, and he slept okay even though there was a pile of snow next to our tent. Here’s the whole family in the morning:

It was a great weekend.
